ACWF President Calls for Promoting China's COVID-19 Combat Spirit, Uniting and Guiding Women to Contribute to Epidemic Containment, Social and Economic Development

Shen Yueyue, President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), made an inspection tour to urban and rural communities, hospitals and enterprises in Ezhou and Wuhan cities, Central China's Hubei Province, on October 10-12.
Shen called for efforts to further study the spirit of important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, stay committed to putting people first, take root in primary level, guide and serve women, organize women to follow the Party and make joint efforts to achieve the two centenary goals.
Shen attended a women's lecture activity of promoting the great spirit of anti-epidemic battle in Jiangxinyuan Community in Wuhan. She presented awards to representatives of the recipients of the honorary title of the National March 8th Red-banner Collective in the country's anti-COVID-19 battle, and she encouraged them to make more contributions at their posts.
Shen visited two communities and two villages in Ezhou City, to learn more about the needs of community residents, requirements of family building, women's mental health work and the free screening of cervical and breast cancers. She asked about their actual demands, listened to their suggestions and gave targeted guidance to the community-based work.
During her inspection tour to the Wuhan Medical Care Center for Children, the only designated hospital in the city for treating children infected with COVID-19 during the epidemic outbreak. Shen urged the women's federations at all levels to pay continuous attention to the physical and mental health of women medical workers on the front line and help them relieve family worries through
providing kindergartens and nursing home service to their children and elderly family members.

Shen visited local communities and a housekeeping company in Wuhan City, and reminisced with local women medical workers, volunteers, CPC members, community workers and women's federations' cadres about their community-based epidemic containment work in the arduous battle against the COVID-19.
Shen spoke highly of women volunteers and social organizations for their outstanding performance in epidemic prevention and control. She urged the women's federations to take the initiative to contact women from all walks of life, motivate women volunteers and social organizations which had been developed during the anti-epidemic battle to serve women on a regular basis, and support and help women enjoy a brilliant life.

Shen hosted a symposium during her inspection tour. She stressed more efforts to promote the great spirit of the anti-epidemic battle and create an enabling environment in which women are motivated and their creativity is unleashed. She also urged the women's federations to give full play to their advantages, and unite and motivate women to contribute to the country's high-quality development.
